Springfields Fresh Produce,
Manorbier

Pembrokeshire cliffs Springfields is a family-run holding on the outskirts of Manorbier in the Pembrokeshire coast National Park where we can see, hear and smell
the sea.
The small fields, mild winters, sunny days and sea breezes are ideal for growing many outdoor crops especially Daffodils, Asparagus and soft fruit. With minimal plastic protection we are able to extend the season for some crops and grow delicious Cherries, Melons and Blueberries that would otherwise not be possible in Pembrokeshire. Our membership of Eurepgap ensures quality, traceability and that we farm in an environmentally responsible way.
Field of miniatures Daffodils at Springfields

Daffodils come in many shapes and forms and we have varieties in most categories. A list of bulbs that will be available in August/September is published in early summer and can be sent by post or e-mail. Delivery of bulbs by arrangement.

Please contact Nick or Pat by telephone/fax on 01834 871746 or nickpatbean@yahoo.co.uk for further details.

Each stock has been selected for its healthy high quality flowers and bulbs and including:-
  • Traditional yellow trumpet Daffodils – huge choice of flowers from December to April.
  • Short trumpets, bi-coloured trumpets, double Daffodils, Triandrus, Cyclamineus, Pheasant-eye, Jonquils and many scented Tazetta types.
  • Alongside popular miniature varieties like Tete-a-tete, Jetfire, Jumblie and Canaliculatus we have a range of alternatives, flowering at different times and in other colours.

Tenby DaffodilThe Tenby Daffodil (Narcissus pseudonarcissus var Obvallaris) is the most popular and versatile small variety, ideal for naturalizing. The petals and trumpet are a striking golden yellow and flowering is around St David’s day. This is essentially a wild Daffodil only occurring locally across Pembrokeshire and West Carmarthenshire, native stocks are now sadly depleted and protected by law. Springfields maintains the largest cultivated stock within its own natural environment and dispatches bulbs all over the UK as well as helping to replenish local stocks. Vigorous and true to type.

AsparagusThe ASPARAGUS season runs from April until June 10. Spears are sold in a variety of shapes and sizes from jumbo to soup packs. Take your pick, and try the Asparagus growers association recipe book.
